Hundreds of thousands of artworks in public collections are effectively invisible, searchable only by whatever metadata a cataloguer had time to type.
What it is
Our client runs the online home of the UK's public art collections. We build AI capabilities for the platform: retrieval that understands what a visitor means rather than just what they typed, and vision models that can describe and point at what is actually in a painting.
The work turns a static catalogue into something a researcher, teacher or curious visitor can interrogate in plain language.
